A few quotes that seemed relevant to proposals have caught my eye over the past few days, and I thought I’d share them with a wider audience.

A few quotes that seemed relevant to proposals have caught my eye over the past few days, and I thought I’d share them with a wider audience.
The first was written on the wall at Warner Brothers’ Harry Potter studio tour, which I visited at the weekend – great fun, if you get a chance to go:
“No story lives unless someone wants to listen.” - J.K. Rowling
The second was in The Times, from Lynton Crosby – an election strategic guru:
“I always say ‘Message matters most’. It doesn’t matter how many leaflets you put out or doors you knock on, if you don’t have a relevant message for the voters, then you won’t win.”
The final one was posted by Emma, my girlfriend, on Facebook:
“The basis of optimism is sheer terror.” - Oscar Wilde
So, next time you’re running a bid: are the evaluators fired up and looking forward to reading your proposal; do you have a clear story; and what would it feel like for the team members to win (or lose)?
